Incredible two piece evening ensemble dating between the 1910s-early 1920s in a vibrant copper-orange silk velvet devore on cotton backing. This ensemble consists of a matching bodice and dress, designed to function together as a modular gown and reflects the influence of Paul Poiret and fashion houses of the period.

The asymmetrical wrap bodice features a heavy metallic lamé lace trim and a decorative sash with a long train. The sash is lined in silk charmeuse as are the sleeves and waistline of the dress.

The interior construction of the dress includes a grosgrain waist stay, silk lined bodice and kid skin under arm pads. Snap closures secure both pieces and allow garments to open significantly, internal hook and eye closures at the waist of the dress.

Hand rolled edge of silk at the neckline of the dress is coming undone and silk lining in the dress bodice has some small tears. There are also a few loose threads at the waistline. Overall in excellent condition for its age.
