Old Hollywood costume piece Cleopatra serpent arm cuff

From the estate of noted Hollywood collector Michael Shaw, this vintage gold toned serpent arm cuff was likely used as a costume accessory for film or stage. A sculptural piece with clear ties to Hollywood’s golden age. It is formed as a coiling snake with textured scales and a stylized head. It is strongly reminiscent of 1920s Egyptian revival jewelry, a style that surged in popularity following the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb. In excellent condition. Slightly malleable.
